Newby to saltwater tanks HELP!

Post  teaspoonkitty on Sun Dec 25, 2011 11:04 pm

So I'm planning on buying a 12 gallon edge and I'm trying to decide if I want to stick to a normal freshwater tank or to spice up my life a bit and go for a saltwater. I have owned freshwater fish tanks my whole life so I know the basics of fish care. I don't, however, know how to set up a saltwater tank. Do I just add some sort of salt mix to the water or do I need to do something completely different to the whole tank (such as mess with the filtration system). Also, is there anything else I'm going to need besides what it comes with for either? Thanks for all the help!

Cheers
